Youth and Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Emphasizing an Intelligent Balance Between Opportunities and Threats

The conference on “Youth and Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, with Emphasis on Creating an Intelligent Balance Between Opportunities and Threats” was organized by the Vice-Chancellor for Research and Technology of Zanjan University of Medical Sciences, in collaboration with the Provincial General Directorate of Sports and Youth and the Provincial Department of Education and Training.

According to Webda Zanjan News, the conference, held today, Thursday, 24 Mehr, opened with a keynote address by Dr. Maryam Noborani, Deputy for Research and Technology at Zanjan University of Medical Sciences, at Rozbeh International Conference Center of the university.

She underscored the significance of “artificial intelligence” as an essential skill for life in today’s world and noted that young people are at the forefront of the opportunities and challenges arising from this rapidly evolving technology.

Dr. Noborani described the role of the conference as providing a platform for a deeper understanding of this transformation and for equipping youth to participate in the future.

Speakers and the conference’s key theme, in order, were: Dr. Solmaz Norouzi: “Youth in the Era of Data Explosion,” Dr. Mohammad Hosseini-Moghadam: “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Education,” and Dr. Masood Khanjarkhani: “Educational Challenges in the Age of AI,” among others.

As 93.2% of youths in a global study hold a favorable view of artificial intelligence, this conference likewise demonstrated that the future can be shaped by the intelligent adoption of this technology. However, it should always be remembered that “digital education must be human-centered, cultivating not only technical capability but also creativity, critical thinking, and empathy.”

The event emphasized that young people are not passive users of AI, but learners, creators, and future leaders in this field. The future, in which AI and human interaction can jointly lay the foundations for a stronger, more flexible, and more equitable education system.
