On the occasions of international Yoga Day (june21), Mrs. Maryam Sakaki the head of Women’s and family Committee of the Provincial General Sports Federation has emphasized the positive effects of yoga on mental and physical health. According to multiple studies, yoga plays a significant role in reducing stress and anxiety, improving emotional stability, lowering blood pressure, enhancing respiratory function, and decreasing muscle tension. Collectively, these outcomes contribute to a better quality of life.

She added: it should be emphasized that yoga is beneficial for everyone. Regardless of age -adults or children many people practice and benefit from yoga.

She stated that yoga is introduced as a spiritual practice that enhances the quality of life emphasizing that yoga is a sport for the cultivation of body and spirit, which includes physical exercises, breathing, and meditation. This practice helps with flexibility, physical strength, and relaxation.

Continuing, the head of Women’s and family Committee of the Provincial General Sports Federation referred to the physical and mental benefits of yoga for pregnant mothers and said: pregnant mothers can benefit from specific and safe exercises during each trimester of pregnancy. These exercises are designed according to the mothers’ bodily needs and include balance. stretching, and strength training. By doing these exercises pregnant mothers can easily adapt to the physiological changes of pregnancy and facilitate childbirth.

In conclusion, Mrs.Sakaki emphasized that yoga not only contributes to the physical health of the mothers but also impacts their mental health and emotions and can help prevent postpartum depression.
