Achievement of First Place at the Abu Reyan Biruni Research Festival by a Faculty Member of Zanjan University of Medical Sciences
Dr. Mohsen Soleimani, a research faculty member at Zanjan University of Medical Sciences, attained first place at the 26th Abu Reyhan Biruni Research Festival through the presentation of his study on predicting stroke mortality using machine learning models.
According to the Webda News Agency – Zanjan, Dr. Soleimani was awarded first place and selected as the recipient of the Dr. Fereshteh Motamedi Grant at the 26th Abu Reyḥan Biruni Research Festival, hosted by Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences on December 22, 2025.This scientific achievement stemmed from the research project entitled “Multifactorial Analysis of Risk Factors and Prediction of Stroke Mortality Using Machine Learning Models: A Data-Based Study from the SITS System in Iran.” The project was recognized by the jury for its methodological innovation, practical applicability of results, and significance for public health, and was consequently selected as the festival’s top project.At the closing ceremony and award presentation, attended by Dr. Akhoundzadeh, Deputy Minister for Research and Technology at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Soleimani received the certificate of appreciation and the first-place award.
