ZUMS Enhances Nuclear Medicine Infrastructure with Advanced Imaging Technology at Vali-e-Asr Hospital

The Clinical Equipment Directorate of the Vice-Presidency for Clinical Affairs at Zanjan University of Medical Sciences (ZUMS) has announced the acquisition of a state-of-the-art nuclear medicine imaging system for Vali-e-Asr Hospital, representing a major advancement in the region’s diagnostic capabilities.

Dr. Seyyed Mehdi Safavi, Director of Medical Equipment, told Webda Zanjan that the cutting-edge imaging system valued at approximately 700 billion IRR was secured following a coordinated four years administrative effort by the Vice-Presidency for Clinical Affairs, with key support from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MOHME).

Upgrading Diagnostic Precision and Patient Care

The installation of this advanced system in the Nuclear Medicine Department of Vali-Asr Hospital is set to expand the hospital’s diagnostic capacity and significantly improve clinical accuracy in disease detection.“Integrating this advanced diagnostic system into our clinical workflow is a major step toward enhancing healthcare quality in the province,” Dr. Safavi stated. “The technology represents the latest innovations in nuclear imaging, offering clinical teams high-resolution diagnostics that are essential for accurate treatment planning.”

Collaborative Achievement and Timeline

Dr. Safavi emphasized that achieving this milestone is the result of four years of persistent technical and administrative follow-up by university management, alongside special support from the Ministry of Health, demonstrating ZUMS’s commitment to equipping regional medical centers with modern clinical technologies.The Medical Equipment Directorate confirmed that the imaging system has been delivered to the university and is currently undergoing installation. Following final technical calibrations and commissioning, the system is expected to enter full clinical service in the near future to serve patients and referrals from across the region.
