A meeting to review and elaborate on the “Comprehensive Health Industry Ecosystem Document of Zanjan Province” was held with the participation of Dr. Saeid Sardari,Chancellor of Zanjan University of Medical Sciences; Dr. Mehrdad Hamidi, Vice‑Chancellor for Research and Technology; and Dr.Maryam Nobarani, Deputy to the Vice‑Chancellor for Research and Technology. According to the Zanjan Webda report, on February 8, during the meeting held at the Office of the Vice‑Chancellor for Research and Technology, Dr. Majid Aminzare, Head of the University’s Social Impact Unit, presented the comprehensive health industry ecosystem document and outlined the proposed strategic and operational framework for the development of an integrated and sustainable health industry ecosystem in Zanjan Province. Referring to the comprehensive approach adopted in the document, he emphasized the necessity of synergy among the university, the private sector, governmental institutions, and civil society. The presentation addressed several key themes, including a ten‑year vision for transforming Zanjan Province into a regional hub for innovation in health industries, completion of the value chain from research and development to production and market entry, the central role of Zanjan University of Medical Sciences in education, research, technology transfer, and social impact assessment, as well as the importance of health equity and social impact throughout all stages of ecosystem development. Participants in the meeting also engaged in discussions regarding the existing capacities and challenges of the province, underscoring the need to establish coordinating structures, strengthen research and innovation infrastructures, support small and medium‑sized enterprises in the health sector, and simultaneously address the economic and social dimensions of health industry development. Subsequently, topics such as the role of the Vice‑Chancellorship for Research and Technology in the scientific governance of the ecosystem, effective collaboration with science and technology parks, investment attraction, enhancement of production standards and regulatory oversight, and the position of the University’s Social Impact Unit in monitoring and evaluating the social outcomes of health‑related projects were examined.
