Dr. Saeid Sardari, Chancellor of Zanjan University of Medical Sciences, emphasized the necessity of guiding artificial intelligence through ethical principles, education, and targeted investment, referring to AI as the driving force of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. According to the Webda–Zanjan News Agency, Dr. Sardari made these remarks at the specialized session titled “Human Wisdom and Artificial Intelligence: Where Is the Next Destination?”, held on December 13 at Zanjan University of Medical Sciences. He stated that artificial intelligence is no longer merely a technical tool, but rather “a central pillar of the fourth wave of civilizational transformation.” Referring to the views of Klaus Schwab, founder of the World Economic Forum, he noted that humanity has entered a phase in which the integration of digital, biological, and physical technologies is redefining human life as well as social, economic, and political structures. Addressing the current realities of the country, Dr. Sardari warned that Iran’s lag in effectively leveraging artificial intelligence could lead to far-reaching consequences. He identified inadequate infrastructure, insufficient investment, weaknesses in problem-oriented education, and certain cultural barriers as key factors limiting innovation in this field.

He further discussed the dual impacts of artificial intelligence, stating that while AI has the potential to revolutionize diagnosis, treatment, and life expectancy in the health sector, poor governance could also turn it into a contributor to rising mental and psychological disorders. According to him, this technology will profoundly transform lifestyles, belief systems, and even the role of humans in society.In response to the central question of the event, Dr. Sardari defined the desired destination as the “responsible integration of technology with human and ethical values.” He stressed that achieving this goal requires adherence to principles such as transparency, justice, accountability, and the protection of privacy. The future, he asserted, belongs to societies that can align innovation with ethical leadership.

In closing, he described the gathering as a “unique opportunity for knowledge exchange” and addressed researchers and faculty members by expressing hope that, through collaboration and collective innovation, the country can move toward alignment with global developments and achieve the sustainable utilization of artificial intelligence.
